An inpatient adult psychiatry unit is seeking a Board Certified Psychiatrist to provide coverage as well as ED consults as needed.
The facility is located in Bronx, NY.
This full-time (40 hours per week) adult psychiatry position is based at a NYC Public/HHC hospital with 70 inpatient beds for adult and geriatric patients. The role involves inpatient care and consulting on psychiatric cases from the emergency department, with coverage needed 24/7 for both day and night shifts. Telepsychiatry is not an option, and electronic medical records (EMR) are used. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible within five years of graduation, though a waiver can be requested for board-eligible candidates with strong references. The patient population primarily consists of individuals with serious mental illness, often with co-morbid substance abuse disorders. No on-call coverage is required.
