Great location next to West Palm Beach, Delray Beach & Boca Raton +
Community Mental Health Center
This is a 9am to 5pm position
Will see about 4 patients per hour with 15 minute follow ups and 1 hour evaluations (one new patient per day)
Some call during the week and about 1 call per weekend
20% Adult patients
70% Child patients and 10% Adolescent
Mental health/substance abuse cases
40% Depression
30% ADHD
10% Bi-polar
10% Schizophrenic/Eating disorder/Chemical dependency

POSITION PURPOSE
The Psychiatrist provides psychiatric and medication management services and authorizes treatment for clients of Client's center.
The Psychiatrist will participate in the development of Medication management Policies and Procedures, which include protocols for over-the-counter medications and to review and approve all completed client documents related to the distribution of client medications. He/She will participate in regular treatment team staffing and provide leadership, support and guidance to treatment members.
POSITION’S ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Psychiatrist will provide timely medication management and prescriptions to clients, will explain the benefits, risks and, alternatives of medications to clients, families and staff, will assess client for medications given and, will order any tests needed.
Supervise treatment for clients on psychotropic medications in coordination with the primary health care physician, when indicated by client’s medical condition.
Document all work done in client records in a detailed and legible manner.
Provide regular supervision to any nurse practitioner who is employed by client.
Provide regular training to staff on psychiatric and medication management issues.
