Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team. The Inpatient Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients admitted to our inpatient psychiatric unit. This role involves comprehensive psychiatric assessments, treatment planning, medication management, and coordination of care with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients admitted to the inpatient unit.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and collaborate with the treatment team to implement appropriate interventions.
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, adjusting dosages as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment for patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms or behavioral disturbances.
Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
Document clinical encounters and treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to regulatory requirements and best practices.
Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards of practice.
Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
Active state medical license and DEA registration.
Completion of residency training in Psychiatry from an accredited program.
Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting preferred.
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
