Assistant Director of Behavioral Health

Job description

The Assistant Director of Behavioral Health is responsible for the daily leadership and clinical oversight of all staff under the Behavioral Health Department to ensure that children in care receive appropriate services following ORR policies and guidelines and State Licensing Standards.  
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the day-to-day leadership and oversight of the onsite Behavioral Health Department to ensure that the children receive clinically appropriate care  
Provides leadership in creating and maintaining a relationship-based therapeutic environment within the program setting
Work with leaders or directors and Behavioral Health Project Management Team program areas to ensure service delivery, safety programs, regulations and guidance are followed and maintained
Facilitate collaborative working relationships
Ensure the professional capacity, therapeutic and cultural competence of the clinical team and residential staff by providing training, feedback, and clinical supervision
Ensure quality measures and outcomes are met in accordance with best practice and therapeutic standards
Ensure the clinical records meet the set requirements and prepares for audits accordingly
Works with other program department leads or directors to ensure service delivery, safety plans, regulations, and guidelines are followed and maintained
Facilitate collaborative working relationships with all clinical staff, multidisciplinary teams, community partners, service providers, management, and staff to ensure the needs of the residents/children and program goals, objectives, and services are being met at the highest quality, work within the established ethical boundaries
Works as a team player and exhibits professional behavior and a positive attitude with both internal and external clients that reflects positively on the program and is consistent with company policies and practices
Actively participate in exhibiting cultural awareness and sensitivity when interacting with children, parent(s)/guardian
