The Licensed Clinician (Specialist, Child Well Being) is the point of contact for matters related to child well-being at DHS sites.
Essential Functions:
• Monitor the physical environment, individual interactions, and verbal/nonverbal cues to assess child well-being concerns and facilitate appropriate staff-family-child interactions.
• Propose solutions that leverage existing services and coordinate interventions and case management to support child well-being.
• Partner with management on care decisions for children with medical, psychological, physical, developmental, behavioral, or safety needs requiring frequent attention.
• Assist CBP in documenting and transferring information for complex HHS placements of children with special needs.
• Proactively engage with children to identify and address distress or risk.
• Provide ongoing staff education, highlight success stories, and offer insights into culturally sensitive care.
• Report activities to leadership via shift reports and supervisory meetings.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Ability to support multiple sites through ongoing communication and data review
• Effective communication with site and government staff
• Experience in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Adaptability to dynamic, developing program environments
Education and Experience:
• Master's degree in behavioral health or related field; doctoral degree preferred
• Licensed as a Social Worker (LCSW or LICSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Professional Counselor (LPC), or Doctor-level Psychologist (LP)
• 2+ years of experience in child development, culturally aware and trauma-centered care, performing clinical evaluations.
• Prior experience in immigration setting strongly preferred
