DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Licensed Psychologist, you will have a crucial role in providing mental health services to inmates. You will be involved in administering and interpreting psychological tests, evaluating and monitoring inmates with severe mental illness, conducting individual and group therapy, and screening for psychiatric and mental health services. In this position, you will also be responsible for responding to emergencies and providing necessary interventions. Furthermore, you will need to exercise therapeutic care, custody, and control over inmates while developing appropriate short and long term psychological treatment objectives. In addition, you may also be involved in research projects, serve on committees, and testify as an expert witness in legal proceedings. This position requires a high level of professionalism, empathy, and the ability to work with a diverse population in a challenging environment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

You must possess a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology.
As an employee in the Department of Corrections, you must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification within two months of hire and maintain it for the duration of employment in the job.


Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirement:

You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
