Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide professional, independent, specialized mental health treatment to veterans who are diagnosed with Substance Use Disorders and who are experiencing a wide range of complex medical, psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial problems. These therapeutic relationships also extend to family members.
Provides individual, group and family psychotherapy interventions used in the treatment of veterans with substance use disorders and comorbid mental health needs.
Use subjective and objective data in making clinical assessment of the veteran's needs. Uses advanced clinical training and experience to identify viable treatment options and makes appropriate referrals for care.
Interviews Veterans and their family members to establish facts about the Veteran's situation, presenting problems, and their causes, and the impact of such problems on the Veteran's health as part of a comprehensive psychosocial assessment.
Requirements:
United States Citizenship
Current, full and unrestricted Mental Health Counselor license from any US state or District of Columbia
5+ years of post-licensure experience working in Mental Health Counselor clinical setting
