Community Council Health Systems, a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive mental health and educational services for adults and children in Philadelphia and surrounding areas.
The Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations within our behavioral healthcare team, ensuring the needs of our patients are met in accordance with the standards set forth by our funders and the internal standards set forth by Community Council Health Systems.
Essential Functions include:
• Complete psychiatric evaluations on patients within 2 weeks of admission.
• Obtain or review patient and/or guardian signature on Consent to Treat with psychotropic medications upon admissions.
• Perform clinical screening and prepare referrals of all conditions in need of consultation from medical and other non-psychiatric needs.
• Review and follow up on treatment orders by the physician.
• Review, approve and sign Recovery Goal Plan for assigned patients.
• Prescribe, follow up, and review all prescribed neuroleptics treatments.
• Perform crisis interventions for patients as assigned, making daily reports to Clinical Manager.
• Consult and advise the clinical staff, acting in an advisory capacity for the development and policy formulation for the agency.
Required Education & Experience:
• Degree in medicine or osteopathy from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy in the United States of America {or} a valid medical degree from a foreign school of medicine + evidence of successful completion of the (ECFMG) examination.
• Must have completed psychiatry residency in an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education accredited residency program.
• Current and valid Pennsylvania medical license.
• Valid and current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification.
• Must possess and maintain a current and unrestricted state Controlled Substance Registration from the U.S. DEA.
