Outpatient mental health clinic specializing in maintaining “24/7 worldwide readiness”. Currently, seeing high-risk patients (suicidal or brittle personality disorders) and potentially adjustment disorders, retirement, anxiety and depression, and relationship issues with peers and command.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Have a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or (Psy.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited psychology program.
Must have a minimum of five years’ experience as a clinical psychologist
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
-As appropriate, conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources.
-Accurately diagnoses all major psychiatric disorders by the most current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders of the American Psychiatric Association.
-Promptly determines the appropriate treatment setting and provides a variety of effective treatment modalities in an outpatient setting, which includes the traditional interactive psychotherapies
-Routinely is effective in facilitating inpatient admissions to psychiatric inpatient facilities
-Thoroughly conducts assessments and offers appropriate guidance for other providers in the treatment of patients who present with secondary psychiatric complaints.
-Serves effectively as a member of the mental health flight multidisciplinary treatment team.
-Provides timely and accurate psychiatric consultation to commanders in all acute circumstances
-Routinely evaluates members on Temporary Duty Retired List TDRL (medical retirement) status and renders appropriate recommendations and dispositions.
-Often prepares thorough and accurate psychiatric assessments for Medical Evaluation Boards by the guidance provided by all pertinent Air Force Instructions (AFIs).
-Normally renders fitness/suitability for duty determinations, and ensures that all members referred for security clearances, flying operations, personnel
