Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provides professional, independent, specialized mental health treatment to veterans in crisis and those experiencing a wide range of complex medical, psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial problems.
Utilizes a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities in treatment or with specialized Veteran populations, including individual, group, and family counseling or psychotherapy.
Establishes and maintains ongoing education programs for Veterans, community agencies, students, and staff to facilitate understanding of social work interventions specific to the Veteran population.
Tailors treatment plans to individual Veterans’ needs to include but not limited to differential diagnoses, maladaptive coping skills, utilization of resources, and on-going psychological support.
Utilizes advanced and expert skill in a range of specialized evidence-based interventions and treatment modalities used for treatment of substance use disorders, suicidal crises, and other co-morbid mental health conditions.
Requirements:
United States Citizenship
Masters Degree in Social Work
Current, full and unrestricted Social Work license from any US state or District of Columbia
2+ years of post-licensure experience working in Social Work clinical setting
